Custom and private label casual shoes

A casual shoe is a comfort product dressed up as a fashion product, so we build both sides: cushioning that lasts a full day, and a pattern that reads right on the shelf. Shoetec has made casual sneakers, slip-ons and cup-sole low-tops in Jinjiang since 2005 for brands in Europe, North America and the Middle East. We run OEM and private label development from first sketch to packed carton, with lab-dip colour matching on the real upper and 3D renders before any material is cut. Cushioning comes from EVA or cup soles you can spec by hardness, and the pattern is graded to your market's sizing. Beside the core casual line we make canvas shoes, fashion sneakers and boat shoes, so a lifestyle brand can fill a season from one account.

Casual Shoe FAQ – OEM & Private Label Buyers

Product Details & Customization

1.1 What types of casual shoes can Shoetec manufacture for my brand?

We make canvas sneakers, plimsolls, espadrilles, slip-ons and cup-sole low-tops in men's, women's and unisex fits. Tell us your market and price point and we suggest the closest shapes from our library, or modify one. Recycled and organic options are available. Our main buyers sit in Europe, the US and the Middle East, which is why we also offer fashion sneakers alongside everyday models.

1.2 Can you help me create a completely new design from scratch?

Yes. Our ODM service starts from a concept or a rough sketch. In-house designers turn it into a tech pack, suggest materials that fit your budget, and send a first sample in 10–15 days. You keep the tooling and the style stays yours. Several startup labels we work with launched their first full season this way.

1.3 Do you offer private labeling and custom packaging?

Yes. Our private label services cover your name on the tongue, heel tag, insole print, polybag, hangtag and carton. Send your brand guide and our detail team checks every logo placement before production starts. Most clients begin with one or two styles, then add colourways once the first drop sells.

1.4 What materials do you use for your canvas and casual footwear?

Canvas is the main upper, in 10–12 oz cotton or organic cotton. Linings run to rPET mesh or cotton drill. Soles are rubber, EVA or jute for espadrilles and boat shoes, chosen to your cost and comfort target. Every material is tested to REACH and CPSIA limits and we keep the mill certificate for each batch.

1.5 How do you ensure the quality of stitching and construction?

Three QC stages: inline checks as the line runs, a mid-production check at the lasting stage, and a final AQL 2.5 audit before the cartons close. We measure stitch density, plimsoll-line alignment and sole bonding on a flex tester, and we keep hand-checks on the details a machine won't catch. The QC report goes to you before shipment.

1.6 Can you produce shoes that meet specific environmental standards like GRS?

Yes. Our supply chain is GRS-certified for recycled content, and we document every recycled component so your claim is auditable. The factory is also BSCI audited (valid through 2026) and ISO 9001 certified. Audit and chain-of-custody papers go to your compliance team on request, under NDA. We can also name the recycler and the yarn supplier behind the recycled content.

1.7 Is it possible to mix different styles or colors in one production run?

Yes. We mix styles, colours and sizes in one order, which suits boutiques testing a wider range without holding deep stock. We confirm the total pair count and build the schedule around your mix. Mixed orders usually add 3–5 days versus a single-colour run. Browse the product catalog and tell us the mix you want.

1.8 How do you handle size runs and grading for different markets?

We hold lasts in EU 36–46, US 5–12 and UK 3–11, with separate men's, women's and youth grading. Fit is adjusted per market, so a EU 40 built for Germany lands the same as one for the US. If you send your own spec sheet we grade to it, and we test fit over three sample rounds before bulk.

Ordering & Business Terms

2.1 What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for a new brand?

MOQ starts at 800 pairs per style, colour and size run. A new sole or a custom print can raise the floor because of material minimums. Send your target price and volume and we return the lowest workable quantity. For a first order, most buyers start with one style in one colour and scale from there.

2.2 How long does it take to make samples before bulk production?

10–25 days. A colourway change on an existing pattern is about 10 days; a new last plus a new printed upper runs closer to 25. We confirm the timeline within 24 hours of your tech pack. Where a launch date is tight we can compress some steps, but not the QC.

2.3 Are sample fees refundable if I place a bulk order later?

Yes. The sample fee is deducted in full from your bulk invoice when production starts. It covers materials and labour only, so there is no separate development charge. If the style never goes to bulk the fee stands, but you keep the sample and the tech pack. This applies to standard sampling requests that meet the agreed order terms.

2.4 What is the typical lead time for mass production after sample approval?

45–60 days from deposit and sample sign-off, covering material sourcing, cutting, stitching, lasting, QC and packing. Peak season can add a week, so book your slot three months ahead. We send a weekly schedule with photo updates at each milestone. Where we can compress a step we will tell you, rather than promise a date we can't hold.

2.5 Can I visit your factory to see the production process firsthand?

You're welcome to visit our facility. We're at Shuyou Building, Hebin Rd, Chendai, Jinjiang, Fujian. Give us a week's notice and we'll arrange a line walk-through, a look at the sample room, and a meeting with your export manager. Most clients visit during sampling or just before bulk. If travel is difficult, we can run the same walk-through over a video call.

2.6 What payment terms do you accept for international orders?

T/T as standard: 30% deposit, 70% against the B/L copy. L/C at sight is available for orders above USD 100,000 and for repeat buyers. PayPal only covers sample fees. Payments go to the company account, with bank details on the proforma invoice, so there is no ambiguity about where funds should land.

2.7 Do you offer exclusive designs that won't be sold to other clients?

Yes. A custom design made for your brand stays exclusive and is not sold to anyone else. We sign an NDA on every project, store your moulds separately, and never share your tech pack. Over 20 years of export work we have had no IP dispute with a client, and that record is deliberate.

2.8 How do you handle changes to an order after production has started?

Minor changes, such as packaging or carton marks, can usually be absorbed. Major design changes after the line starts mean halting production and re-quoting the timeline. We tell you the impact on cost and ship date immediately rather than hiding it. It is best to lock the final spec before the deposit.

Logistics, Shipping & Compliance

3.1 Which countries do you mainly export casual shoes to?

Our main markets are the US, the EU, the UK, Australia and the Middle East. We ship to 35 countries and have cleared customs for footwear in all of them. Regular ports include Los Angeles, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe and Jebel Ali, so we already know the paperwork each one expects.

3.2 Can you help with import duties and customs documentation?

We issue the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and any buyer-specific forms accurately, which is where most classification errors start. We can't pay your import duty, but we keep the HS codes for footwear current for your market so the shipment clears without extra fees or holds. If customs asks for a document we missed, we resend it within one working day.

3.3 What shipping methods do you recommend for bulk shoe orders?

For full containers, sea freight is the cheapest option. We quote FOB Xiamen as standard, or CIF if you'd rather we book the freight. Transit to EU and US ports runs 25–35 days. For restocks or samples, air freight is 5–8 days. We work with your forwarder or one from our shortlist.

3.4 Are your factories compliant with social responsibility standards like BSCI?

Yes. The factory is BSCI audited (valid through 2026) and ISO 9001 certified. We follow standard working hours, keep wage and safety records, and allow unannounced audits. During supplier verification we share the latest audit report and can arrange a video walk-through of the line. The report covers wages, hours, safety and dormitory conditions at the plant.

3.5 How do you package shoes for long-distance ocean shipping?

Individual shoe boxes with tissue and silica gel, 10 pairs per master carton, double-walled and moisture-lined for long sea voyages. Cartons carry your marks and a packing list, and pallets are wrapped and strapped to your DC spec. We add moisture barriers for humid destinations. We can also add desiccant packs for routes that cross the equator.

3.6 What happens if goods are damaged during transit?

If damage comes from our packing, we replace the affected pairs or credit them. That is why we recommend cargo insurance for the voyage, which we can help arrange. We investigate any claim with photos within 48 hours and confirm the cause before agreeing a resolution, so the fix is based on evidence, not guesswork.

3.7 Can you ship directly to Amazon FBA warehouses or retail distribution centers?

Yes. We label and pack to Amazon FBA requirements, including FNSKU labels, polybag warnings and carton weight limits. We also ship to 3PL warehouses and retail DCs with their own labeling instructions. Send the FBA shipment ID or delivery appointment and we handle the rest. Any labeling spec you send is applied at the factory before the cartons ship.

3.8 Do you provide tracking information for my shipment?

Yes. The Bill of Lading and container number go to you as soon as the goods leave the factory, with tracking for the voyage. We watch the schedule and tell you about port delays, rollovers or customs holds as they happen, not after. You can also nominate your own forwarder if you prefer.

After-Sales & Partnership

4.1 What is your policy if there are quality issues with the bulk order?

If a defect gets through, we investigate with photos within 48 hours and then repair, replace or credit at our cost. Our defect rate over the last 12 months is 0.3%. We log the root cause and adjust the process so the same fault does not repeat on your next run, and pre-shipment inspection is there to catch most of it first.

4.2 Can you help me develop a full seasonal collection rather than just single styles?

Yes. We build a seasonal range around a colour-and-style matrix and sample the top three styles first, so you can test fit before committing to the full run. If you want a complete lifestyle offer, we can pair casual styles with outdoor shoes or athletic footwear from the same account and the same QC gates.

4.3 How do you stay updated with the latest casual shoe trends?

We scout trends at ISPO in January and July and track retail data from EU and US accounts. We then build a colour-and-style matrix for you to react to. Cost work happens at the material stage, and we share pricing before you lock a final selection, so a trend call never turns into a surprise invoice.

4.4 Is there a dedicated account manager for my brand?

Yes. Your export manager, Ethan Shi, handles design queries, sampling and shipment tracking, and replies in English. You deal with one person from the first enquiry through to after-delivery follow-up, which is why reorders usually move faster than first orders. He is the person who signs off the final QC report.

4.5 Can you assist with product photography or marketing materials?

Our studio photographs your finished shoes on white and in context, and can shoot short video for your site and ads. Files are high-resolution and licensed for your own marketing. Request this with the bulk order so the images match the production pair rather than an early sample. Extra shooting days, models or lifestyle sets are quoted separately on request.

4.6 What makes Shoetec different from other shoe manufacturers in China?

We've made footwear in Jinjiang since 2005 and ship to 35 countries, with GRS, BSCI and ISO 9001 certifications behind the claims. More than a factory, we take part in the product decision: suggesting materials and colourways rather than quoting a number and waiting. Read more in our company story and capabilities.

4.7 How quickly do you respond to inquiries and emails?

We reply to business inquiries within 24 hours, and faster during China working hours (Monday to Saturday, 8:00–18:00). Include your target market, quantity and price point in the first message and we can often send a rough quote in the same reply. Quotes are sent as a PDF with cost breakdown, MOQ and lead time attached.

4.8 Can we sign a long-term supply agreement for stable pricing?

Yes. Long-term clients can get a rate locked for the season and priority on production slots. That helps you plan budgets and protects your capacity in peak season. Send your annual forecast and we'll draft terms around it. Repeat styles also ship faster because lasts and materials stay on file.
