Insulated Winter Boot Production, Rated in the Cold Chamber

OEM and ODM Built to Your Spec

Pick the lining weight, upper material, outsole and shaft height, and we build the boot around it. Our technical team runs the cold-flex and water tests, then sends a wear pair so you can judge warmth before the size run is locked.

Partner Factories for Peak Season

We run insulated boots across partner plants in Fujian, Guangdong and Zhejiang, so an August-to-October rush does not stall on one line. Split orders, phased deliveries and volumes from 800 to 60,000 pairs are all workable.

Quality Control and Cold Testing

Incoming foam and lining materials are checked before cutting, in-line inspectors watch stitching and seam sealing, and packed cartons get an AQL 2.5 final inspection. Cold-chamber and waterproof reports are available for your buyer.

Private label clients get their logo on the sockliner, tongue, heel and box, with packaging quoted as its own line. Since 2005 we have shipped more than 1.5 million pairs a year to 30+ brands, and 98% of orders leave the factory on schedule.

Insulated Boots Rated for Subzero Days

Built around a 200 g to 2,000 g lining plus a waterproof membrane or sealed seam construction, and tested in a cold chamber before the spec is signed off. Warmth figures come from test data, not a label.

Warm Boots with Fleece and Fur Linings

Thinsulate-type insulation, fleece and faux fur are weighed and tested for loft, so warmth is measured rather than claimed. Linings stay breathable so feet do not overheat once you step indoors.

Wholesale Insulated Boots from 800 Pairs

Run a marketplace test batch or a full retail container on the same line. Carry-over colours can drop to 300–500 pairs, and bulk runs scale to 60,000 pairs without changing the spec.

Fur-Lined Boots in EU 36–46

Faux fur and fleece collars sit on suede, coated canvas or synthetic leather uppers. Sizes run EU 36–46 for women's and men's lines, in regular and wide fits.

Cold Weather OEM from Last to Carton

We handle last and outsole tooling, material sourcing, assembly and packing, so one team owns the timeline. New tooling takes about 25 days; a first sample off an existing last takes about 10.

Cold-Chamber Tests Before Every Shipment

We flex and insulate-test samples down to -25°C, then run waterproof and slip checks on the bulk. Failed pairs are pulled before packing, and our after-sales complaint rate stays under 0.5%.

Design and Development

Your sketch or tech pack becomes a 2D pattern and 3D last file, then a first prototype in about 10 days if the mould already exists. New last files take closer to 25 days.

Cutting

Die-cut and laser cutting hold panel tolerances to about 1 mm, which cuts leather waste and keeps every pair in a run identical. Off-cuts are sorted for recycling.

Stitching

Uppers run 10 to 12 stitches per centimetre on double-needle machines, with a mid-line seam-strength check before the upper moves to attaching.

Bottom Attaching

Cold cement and vulcanised processes bond the outsole to the upper, tested for flex and pull-out strength. Field complaint rate sits below 0.5%.

Lasting Operation

Lasting sets the fit and shape. We build to EU 36-42 and US 5-11 lasts and adjust the last file for regional sizing before the first shipment leaves Jinjiang.

Packing

Retail-ready boxes, hangtags and polybags are assembled to your spec, with export cartons braced and moisture-wrapped for the sea leg to Europe or North America.

Logistics and Shipping

We ship FOB Xiamen by default and arrange DDP on request, handing over booking and bill-of-lading documents within three days of loading so your customs broker is not kept waiting.

Insulated Winter Boots FAQ – Jinjiang Shoetec

Product Customization & Design Capabilities

1.1 Can you make insulated boots that perform just like the big brands we see in retail stores?

Shoetec has built winter boots for more than 30 brands since 2005, and we run the same construction the retail leaders use: a waterproof membrane, 200 g to 2000 g of Thinsulate or equivalent, and a moulded rubber bottom. Our lab verifies cold-flex and insulation retention before shipping, so your boots are tested to the same benchmarks, not just described that way. We can match a target pair's specs without copying its trademarks.

1.2 Do you offer different levels of Thinsulate insulation based on the temperature ratings we need?

Yes. We stock 200 g, 400 g, 600 g and 800 g Thinsulate in the Jinjiang warehouse and can order heavier weights to 2000 g for arctic programs. Each gram level carries a tested comfort range, so you can pick the weight that fits your market: 200 g for a mild European winter, 600 g or more for Canadian and Nordic buyers. We also send a swatch kit so you can compare warmth and bulk before committing.

1.3 Is it possible to customize the boot design for specific activities like hunting or construction work?

Yes. Hunting boots usually get a quiet rubber sole, a scent-blocking lining and a wider toe box; safety work boots get a composite or steel toe cap and a slip-rated outsole that meets ASTM F2413 or EN ISO 20345. We keep separate lasts for each use case, so the fit is right rather than a general winter boot with a label changed. Tell us the activity and the standard, and our pattern team builds the spec.

1.4 Can you help us develop a complete winter collection if we are a startup brand without our own designs?

Yes. Our ODM service starts from a short brief and returns a full seasonal line: three to six lasts, colour and material cards, and pre-production samples. Sampling runs about 10 days on an existing last and 25 days if we cut a new mould. Startups often launch with one or two hero styles at the 800-pair MOQ, then add SKUs once the first sell-through numbers come in.

1.5 Do you have experience working with eco-friendly materials for sustainable winter boots?

Yes. We work with GRS-certified recycled polyester linings, recycled rubber outsoles and chrome-free or vegetable-tanned leather, and we hold GRS and BSCI certificates. For EU buyers, materials are screened against REACH and can carry RSL test reports. Send your sustainability brief and target certification, and our sourcing team will propose a material list with the supporting documents attached.

Sampling & Prototyping Process

2.1 How long does it usually take to receive a sample of the insulated boots?

Around 10 days if the last and mould already exist, and about 25 days for a new last or outsole mould. Add 4 to 6 days by express for Europe and 3 to 5 days for the US. We send tracking from the day the sample leaves Jinjiang, and we can air a pair ahead of a bulk order if you are under a launch deadline.

2.2 Can you make a sample with our specific logo and packaging before we place a bulk order?

Yes. Pre-production samples carry your woven label, printed logo, hangtag, polybag and retail box exactly as the bulk run will. This lets you check colour accuracy, stitching and packaging before you commit to 800 pairs or more. We photograph each sample from six angles and email the set so your team can review without waiting for the courier.

2.3 What happens if the first sample doesn't meet our expectations?

We revise the sample at no extra tooling cost until it matches your spec. Most feedback is about fit, lining thickness or sole hardness, and those are adjusted on the second or third round, usually within 7 to 10 days each. You approve a signed golden sample before bulk starts, so the production line works from a reference everyone has already accepted.

2.4 Do you charge for samples and can this cost be deducted later?

We charge a sample fee that covers materials and cutting time; it is normally USD 50 to 150 per pair depending on the construction, plus courier. On confirmed bulk orders above 3,000 pairs the sample fee is credited back against the invoice. That keeps the trial low-risk for buyers who are still testing a new winter program.

2.5 Can you send us physical swatches of the insulation and leather materials before sampling?

Yes. We mail a material kit with insulation samples, lining swatches, leather and suede cards, and outsole rubber pieces. It usually reaches the EU in 4 to 6 days and the US in 3 to 5 days and costs only the courier. Touching the materials first avoids a wasted sample round and keeps the spec aligned from the start.

MOQ & Order Flexibility

3.1 What is your minimum order quantity for private label insulated winter boots?

Our standard MOQ is 800 pairs per style and colour. For carry-over styles we have already produced for you, we can drop to 300 to 500 pairs, which helps when you are reordering a proven seller. Mixing two sizes in one colour is fine; the 800-pair figure counts total pairs, not pairs per size. Smaller trial runs can be discussed for a first order.

3.2 Can we mix different styles or colors in one container to test the market?

Yes, as long as each style and colour meets the 800-pair MOQ. A 20-ft container holds roughly 2,000 to 3,000 pairs of winter boots, so a mixed order of two or three styles is common for buyers testing a new season. We prepare a packing list by style, colour and size ratio so you can track what sells.

3.3 Do you support small batch orders for new designer brands launching their first line?

We work with new brands every season. A realistic first order is one or two styles at 800 pairs each, which fits a 20-ft container with room to spare. We can spread payment as a 30% deposit and the balance against the bill of lading, and we schedule the run so your cash is not tied up longer than needed.

3.4 How do you handle re-orders if a specific size or color sells out quickly?

We store your last, mould, pattern and material spec, so a reorder skips design and sampling and goes straight to production. Carry-over reorders start at 300 to 500 pairs and run in about 30 days. Peak season from August to October adds roughly a week, so flag your top sellers by June and we will reserve line capacity for them.

3.5 Is there a difference in pricing if we increase our order volume later in the season?

Unit price steps down as volume rises. Typical tiers are 3,000, 6,000 and 12,000 pairs, with a small reduction at each step driven by cutting and setup time. We share the full cost breakdown, material, labour, packing and freight, so you can see exactly where a larger run saves money rather than taking a lump figure on trust.

Quality Control & Compliance

4.1 Are your factories certified for social compliance like BSCI?

Yes. Our partner plants hold BSCI audits, and our own plant is certified to ISO 9001. We also carry GRS for recycled content and can provide CE and ASTM test reports for the relevant footwear standards. Audit reports and certificate copies are available on request for your vendor onboarding file.

4.2 How do you ensure the boots are truly waterproof and not just water-resistant?

We build waterproof styles with a sealed membrane and taped seams, then pressure-test a sample from every batch in a water column to check for leaks. Water-resistant styles use a coated upper without a membrane and are labelled as such, so the wording on your box matches the real performance. Test reports can be attached to your shipment documents.

4.3 Can you provide testing documentation for cold temperature performance?

Yes. We run low-temperature flex tests, typically at -20°C and -25°C, plus an insulation retention check on each insulation weight we stock. The reports show the comfort range and the point where the sole stiffens, which you can quote on your product page. Third-party lab reports from SGS can be arranged for an extra fee if your market needs them.

4.4 Do your materials comply with EU REACH and US California Prop 65 regulations?

Yes. Incoming materials are screened against the REACH restricted substances list and Prop 65 limits, and we keep test reports by batch. Leather and lining suppliers sign a declaration each year, and we re-test if a supplier or material changes. If a component falls out of scope mid-order, we flag it before production rather than after shipping.

4.5 What is your process if we find defective boots in the bulk shipment?

Report the claim within 30 days of delivery with photos and the carton and style numbers. We investigate the batch, then offer replacement pairs or a credit, and close most claims within 15 working days. Our field complaint rate is below 0.5%, so claims are rare, but when they happen we treat the cost as ours until the cause is agreed.

Logistics & Shipping

5.1 How long does it take to produce and ship a full container of winter boots?

Bulk production runs 45 to 60 days after you approve the golden sample. Sea freight adds 25 to 35 days to Europe and 20 to 30 days to the US West Coast, so plan roughly 10 to 13 weeks door to door. Peak season from August to October adds about a week, and rush orders can move in as little as 30 days if capacity allows.

5.2 Can you help calculate import duties for insulated footwear in our country?

We share the correct HS codes, often 6403 or 6404 depending on the upper, and the duty rates we have seen in past shipments. We cannot give binding tax advice, but we provide the invoice, packing list and certificate of origin your broker needs. For exact figures, check with your local customs broker using the HS code we supply.

5.3 Do you offer DDP shipping where you handle all customs and delivery to our warehouse?

Yes. We quote FOB Xiamen as standard, but we can arrange DDP to most EU, US and Middle East destinations through our forwarder. That covers freight, duty and final delivery, so the container arrives at your warehouse ready to unpack. DDP suits buyers new to importing or those who would rather not manage clearance themselves.

5.4 How do you pack the boots to prevent damage during long ocean freight journeys?

We pack in five-layer export cartons with a moisture barrier bag inside, plus internal bracing to stop boxes crushing. Each carton is labelled with style, colour, size run and carton number. We also offer retail-ready packing with individual boxes and hangtags if you sell through stores. Cartons are stack-tested before the container is loaded.

5.5 Can you ship smaller quantities via air freight if we have an urgent restock need?

Yes. Air freight moves 300 to 1,500 pairs in about 10 to 15 days door to door, which is the fast option when a best-seller runs out mid-season. It costs more per pair than sea, so we usually reserve it for top sellers or an early trade-show sample set. Send your size breakdown and we will quote both air and sea.

Business Partnership & Support

6.1 Why should we choose Shoetec over other manufacturers for our winter boot line?

Shoetec has made footwear in Jinjiang since 2005 and ships about 1.5 million pairs a year to 30-plus brands, with 98% on-time delivery. We keep design, sampling, cutting, stitching and packing under one roof about 40 minutes from Xiamen and Quanzhou airports, so a problem gets fixed the same day rather than across three vendors. You get one export manager, Ethan Shi, from quote to shipment.

6.2 Do you sign NDA agreements to protect our unique boot designs?

Yes, we sign your NDA before you share a sketch or tech pack, and we can use our own bilingual template if you prefer. Drawings, last files and material specs are stored on access-controlled drives and are not shown to other clients. We do not produce your design for anyone else, and we keep the file so reorders stay consistent.

6.3 Can you provide references from other brands you have worked with in the past?

We have supplied winter and outdoor programs to brands across Europe, North America and the Middle East, including work for names such as FILA, Umbro and Northland on other footwear lines. We can share case studies and, where the client allows, put you in touch with a buyer. Tell us your market and product type and we will match the closest reference.

6.4 How do we get started with a quote for our specific winter boot project?

Send your design sketch or tech pack, target quantity, insulation weight and destination port. We reply within 24 hours with a ballpark, then a full cost breakdown within a few days once the spec is set. If you have no tech pack, a reference photo and the activity the boot is for is enough for us to start.

6.5 Do you offer marketing support like product photos or description writing for our website?

Yes. We can shoot product photos on white, provide cut-out images, and supply basic English product copy and spec sheets. We also film short clips on the packing line if you need social content. Tell us the asset list before production ends and we will have the files ready alongside the shipment.
