Shoetec Partner Factories

Material Sourcing
Linings, membranes and suede come from audited mills in Fujian and Guangdong. Every roll is logged with a batch number and screened against REACH and OEKO-TEX limits before it reaches the line.
Design and Development
Your sketch or tech pack becomes a 2D pattern and 3D last file, then a first prototype in about 10 days if the mould already exists. New last files take closer to 25 days.
Cutting
Die-cut and laser cutting hold panel tolerances to about 1 mm, which cuts leather waste and keeps every pair in a run identical. Off-cuts are sorted for recycling.
Stitching
Uppers run 10 to 12 stitches per centimetre on double-needle machines, with a mid-line seam-strength check before the upper moves to attaching.
Bottom Attaching
Cold cement and vulcanised processes bond the outsole to the upper, tested for flex and pull-out strength. Field complaint rate sits below 0.5%.
Lasting Operation
Lasting sets the fit and shape. We build to EU 36-42 and US 5-11 lasts and adjust the last file for regional sizing before the first shipment leaves Jinjiang.

1.1 Can you make winter boots that look as stylish as the big fashion brands but with better warmth?
Yes. We build the fashion silhouette first, then fit the warmth inside it: a 100 g or 200 g faux fur or fleece lining, a foam-backed vamp and an insole board that insulates underfoot. That means a slim knee-high boot that still holds heat at -5°C. We work from what is actually selling in EU and US fashion retail, not runway pieces that never reach the winter shelf.
1.2 Do you offer custom designs for startups who don't have their own tech packs yet?
That is most of our startup work. Send mood boards, a saved-image folder or even a photo of a boot you like and our ODM team turns it into a tech pack. We pick the last, spec the lining and outsole, and send drawings for approval before sampling. First samples usually land in about 10 working days from an existing last, or around 25 days if we need new tooling.
1.3 How do you ensure the leather or materials used are high quality and durable for winter conditions?
Upper materials are checked for cold-flex cracking, water repellency and colour fastness before they go to the cutting table, and linings are measured for thermal retention rather than just labelled "warm". We buy from suppliers who carry OEKO-TEX and GRS certificates, and we keep the batch test report so you can hand it to a buyer. Suede, cow leather and microfibre all go through the same incoming inspection.
1.4 Can you replicate a specific boot style I saw in a magazine or online store?
Send a photo or a physical pair and we will study the last shape, shaft height, heel, sole unit and lining, then propose a version built on our own lasts. We never copy a protected design outright, but we can match the proportions and feel while changing details like the buckle, toe shape and tread. From there you get a quoted spec that fits your target retail price.
1.5 What kind of sole technologies do you use to prevent slipping on ice and snow?
For city winter use we cut a 3–4 mm lug pattern in a soft, non-marking rubber that bites on wet pavement and packed snow. For colder markets we drop in a harder compound with deeper lugs and a rubber density tuned to stay flexible below freezing. Outsole batches are cold-flexed and slip-tested, so a boot that cracks at -10°C does not reach your shelf.
1.6 Do you have experience making boots with eco-friendly or recycled materials?
Yes. We use GRS-certified recycled polyester for linings, laces and knit panels, and can source recycled rubber content for the outsole and recycled board for the shoebox. The materials come with transaction certificates you can pass to your buyer or use in a sustainability claim. Recycled content carries a small surcharge, which we quote as its own line so the numbers stay transparent.
1.7 How flexible are you with changing design details during the sampling phase?
Very flexible. During sampling you can change stitching colour, lining thickness, hardware finish, shaft height or heel. Each revision round usually adds 5–7 working days, so we ask you to gather comments in one go rather than trading single tweaks. Nothing moves to bulk until you sign off, and that signed pair stays with us as the production reference for the whole order.
1.8 Can you help us develop a complete winter collection rather than just single styles?
Yes. A typical winter range runs four to six models sharing lasts and sole units: an ankle boot, a mid-calf, a knee-high, one lined 200 g style for colder markets and a heel option. Sharing components keeps tooling cost down and makes the line look coherent on the shelf. We can stagger sampling and shipping so you are not paying for everything at once.
1.9 What makes your winter boots different from generic factory outputs?
Most of the difference is in the fit and the lining. Generic output uses one last for every size and a flat lining, so the boot gaps at the ankle and bunches at the toe. We grade the last per size, shape the lining to the shaft, and check heel alignment on the finished pair. That is why our boots photograph well and still feel warm after a full season of wear.
1.10 Do you offer private labeling and custom packaging options?
Yes. Your logo can go on the insole, heel patch, zipper pull, lining print, hangtag and shoebox, and we can deboss a leather-look label. We need a vector or high-resolution file plus Pantone references, and we send a branding mock-up for approval before anything is stamped or printed. Private label is available across every winter boot model we run.
2.1 How long does it take to get a sample of a new winter boot design?
About 10 working days on an existing last with materials in stock. A new last, a new heel mould or a fresh material buy pushes it to around 25 days. You get photos at cutting, stitching and lasting so you can flag problems early rather than waiting for the finished boot. Sample cost is quoted per style and credited back against your first bulk order.
2.2 Can I request multiple versions of a sample to compare different materials?
Yes, and it is worth doing. We can build the same boot in two or three lining or upper variants, say 100 g versus 200 g insulation, or suede versus microfibre, so you can feel how each one changes warmth, bulk and cost. Variant samples are quoted as extra pairs on top of the first sample, and each one shares the same last so the fit comparison is fair.
2.3 What happens if the first sample doesn't meet my expectations?
Revision rounds are built into the process. Tell us what is off, fit, shaft height, sole grip, lining thickness or hardware, and we correct it and re-sample. Each round usually adds 5–7 working days. We do not start bulk until you have approved the pair in writing, and the approved sample is kept as our quality reference for the whole production run.
2.4 Do you charge for samples, and is the fee refundable upon bulk order?
Yes, samples are charged to cover materials, tooling and labour, and the amount is credited back on your first bulk invoice once you place the production order. New tooling, such as a custom heel or outsole mould, is quoted separately because it is a one-off cost. We send the sample and tooling charges as two clear lines so you can see exactly what is refundable.
2.5 Can you ship samples directly to our office in Europe or the USA?
Yes. We courier samples by DHL or FedEx to Europe, the US, the UK and other markets, and we prepare the export paperwork so they clear customs without being held. Samples normally reach Europe in 4–6 days and the US in 3–5 days. Courier cost is quoted upfront at the carrier rate with no mark-up, and we send the tracking number the day they leave the factory.
2.6 Is it possible to rush the sample process if we have a tight deadline?
We can often compress sampling when capacity allows, especially if the style uses an existing last and stock materials. Rush samples can sometimes be turned around in about 7 days instead of 10. Tell us your deadline before we start so we can judge honestly whether it is doable, because promising a date the sample room cannot hit is worse than saying no upfront.
2.7 What information do you need from me to start making a sample?
Send a sketch or reference photo, the intended shaft height and heel, your size range, upper and lining preferences, and any Pantone colours. Tell us the target retail price and market so we can suggest materials that fit without over-speccing. If you have a logo and packaging direction, include those as well. With that in hand we confirm the timeline and sample price, usually within two working days.
2.8 Do you keep the samples after approval for future reference?
Yes. The approved pair is kept in our sample room as the sealed reference for that style, and every bulk inspection is checked against it for fit, colour, stitching and lining. We keep it for the life of the style, so a reorder two seasons later still matches the first run. If you want a duplicate pair for your own archive, we can make one during the production run.
2.9 Can I visit your factory to oversee the sampling process personally?
You are welcome to visit. Our facility is in Jinjiang, Fujian, about 40 minutes from Quanzhou and Xiamen airports, and we can arrange pickup if you send your travel dates. On a factory visit you can watch the cutting, stitching and lasting lines running, meet the design team and check our BSCI and ISO 9001 paperwork in person. It is the fastest way to decide whether we are the right fit.
2.10 What if I need a sample for a trade show happening soon?
We handle a lot of trade show samples, so tell us the show date and we will work the sample slot backwards from it. If it is a style we already run, a show pair can usually be ready in about 7 days and couriered to arrive a few days before you travel. For a brand-new construction we need at least 3 weeks, so the earlier you flag it the safer the date.
3.1 What is your minimum order quantity for custom winter boots?
Standard minimum is 800 pairs per style and colour. On a carry-over you have run before, where the tooling and materials are already set, we can drop to 300–500 pairs. A brand-new development at very low volume is harder because the last and sole mould have to be amortised, but we will tell you what is workable rather than quoting a number we cannot honour.
3.2 Can I mix different styles or colors in one order to meet the MOQ?
Yes. You can split one order across colours and, on styles that share a last and sole, across a couple of silhouettes. That works well for boutiques testing what sells. The 800-pair minimum then applies to the total order rather than each colourway, though a colour drop below about 150 pairs may carry a small upcharge because of the extra setup.
3.3 How does the price change if I increase my order volume?
Unit cost falls in steps as volume rises, mainly because materials and setup are spread over more pairs. On winter boots our tiers sit around 800, 3,000 and 6,000 pairs per style, with further movement above 12,000. If you share your estimated annual demand we will quote each tier so you can see where the real savings are instead of guessing.
3.4 Are there extra costs for custom packaging or special labels?
Custom boxes, printed tissue, hangtags and labels are priced as separate lines, so you can add or drop them without renegotiating the boot price. A printed box usually adds a small amount per pair, and a fully custom box with new tooling carries a one-off die cost. We show the packaging breakdown before you commit, so nothing appears on the invoice unannounced.
4.1 Are your winter boots compliant with international safety and environmental standards?
Yes. Materials are tested against EU REACH and California Prop 65, and sustainable components come with GRS transaction certificates. We also test for insulation retention, water repellency and slip resistance. Test reports from accredited labs are shared with you on request, and if your retail partner needs a specific scope we can add it to the inspection before the goods ship.
4.2 Do your factories hold social compliance certifications like BSCI?
Yes. Our partner factories hold current BSCI audits and ISO 9001 certification, covering working hours, wages, safety equipment and chemical handling. We re-audit on the standard cycle, and we can send the latest report for your vendor onboarding. If your compliance team needs a broader scope, tell us before the audit window and we will arrange the documentation.
4.3 How do you ensure consistent quality across large production runs?
We run three checkpoints on winter boots. Incoming leather, suede, lining and sole materials are inspected before cutting; in-line inspectors watch stitching, lining adhesion and sole bonding as the order moves; and a final AQL 2.5 inspection happens on packed cartons against the approved sample. We photograph the inspection and share the report before the goods leave, which is how our complaint rate stays under 0.5%.
5.1 What is the lead time for mass production after sample approval?
Bulk production runs 45–60 days from sample approval and deposit, depending on quantity and how many colours are on the order. The August-to-October peak, when every brand wants winter stock, adds roughly a week, so book your slot early for a winter boot launch. We confirm a dated schedule with the order and track it weekly so you can plan retail deliveries.
5.2 Can you ship directly to Amazon FBA warehouses or retail distribution centers?
Yes. We ship to Amazon FBA in the US, EU and UK and to retail distribution centres, and we handle FNSKU labels, carton labels, pallet configuration and ASN paperwork to the receiving centre's spec. If you send the shipping plan, we pack and label to it so the delivery is accepted without a rejection notice. We also ship to 3PL warehouses and consolidators.
5.3 What is your after-sales policy for defective products?
File the claim within 30 days of receiving the goods, with photos or video plus the carton details. We verify the defect and settle within 15 working days, either by replacing the faulty pairs on your next order or by issuing a credit note. We cover the shipping cost on replacements. Genuine defect rates on our orders stay under 0.5%, and we fix problems without argument.
