1.1 Can Shoetec help us develop a completely new athletic shoe design from scratch?
Yes. Send a sketch, a tech pack or a reference shoe, and our in-house team in Jinjiang turns it into 3D CAD within 5 days and a physical counter in 10–15 days. We suggest upper, midsole and outsole construction around your target FOB, so a road running build and a lifestyle trainer can both hit the price point your market expects.
1.2 What if we already have our own designs, can you just manufacture them for us?
Yes. Our OEM line takes your existing tech pack, last and size grading and produces to spec. Before we quote, the technical team reviews stitch density, panel overlap and sole bonding and flags anything that would raise cost or weaken the shoe. You approve every change in writing, and nothing moves to bulk until the counter-sample is signed off.
1.3 Do you offer sustainable or eco-friendly options for athletic shoes?
Yes. We source recycled polyester (rPET) uppers, GRS-certified rubber outsoles and organic cotton linings, and we can document the recycled content of each component for your EU or US reporting. Our factory holds BSCI and GRS audit records, and REACH / RSL test reports are available per material lot on request.
1.4 How long does it take to get a sample made after we approve the design?
A colourway change on an existing pattern is about 10 days. A new last plus new outsole mold runs closer to 25 days. Sample cost is quoted with the timeline, and the fee is deducted from your bulk invoice once production starts. Delay almost always comes from missing material specs, so we confirm those before the clock starts.
1.5 Can you help us create a whole seasonal collection rather than just single styles?
Yes. We build a colour-and-style matrix around your price tiers so the range sells as one story. That usually means 6–12 SKUs across two or three constructions, with shared materials to keep tooling cost down. We can also plan complementary categories with the same buyer, for example trail and outdoor or everyday casual styles.
1.6 Do you work with startups or small designer brands, or only large companies?
Both. Our floor is 800 pairs per style and colour, which lets a new label test one colorway before committing to a full run. Startup accounts get the same project manager, QC protocol and packaging support as larger buyers. Several of our EU and North American accounts started with a single trial order and scaled from there.
1.7 What types of athletic shoes does Shoetec specialize in manufacturing?
Our core is road running, basketball, cross-training and walking footwear, plus lifestyle sneakers that sit between sport and street. Running and basketball tooling stays in-house, so both share one material library. Adjacent lines such as safety work shoes and winter boots run on the same floor.
1.8 Can you match specific color codes or materials we require for our brand?
Yes. We do lab dips on the actual bulk material rather than paper, and we send physical color chips for approval before dyeing. Uppers can come from our in-house library or from a mill you nominate, as long as we can audit the lot. Pantone matching, custom prints and embossed logos are all quoted per style.
2.1 What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom athletic shoes?
800 pairs per style, per colour. Simpler constructions on an existing last can drop to 300–500 pairs for carry-over styles, and mixed-SKU containers let you spread one order across several models. Tell us your target annual volume and we will quote the exact floor with the price break.
2.2 Do you offer better pricing for larger volume orders?
Yes. Pricing is tiered: unit cost steps down at roughly 3,000, 6,000 and 12,000 pairs per style. Bigger runs let us buy leather, mesh and rubber by the full roll and keep lines running, and we pass that through in the quote. A written quotation against your forecast usually takes one working day.
2.3 Are there any hidden costs I should be aware of when ordering from Shoetec?
No hidden fees. A quote itemises material, labour, tooling, testing and packaging. Anything extra — third-party lab tests, air freight, rush production — is listed as a separate line and approved by you in writing before we spend it. Sample fees are refundable against the bulk invoice.
2.4 Can I order a mix of different shoe styles in one shipment?
Yes. You can combine styles, colours and size runs in one container. Most brands use this to test two or three models in a market before reordering the winners. We optimise the packing list so the carton count fills the container, and the per-style minimum stays at 800 pairs.
2.5 How do you handle pricing fluctuations in raw materials?
We lock material prices for the duration of a confirmed order, so a spike in leather or EVA does not change your unit cost mid-production. For annual contracts we agree a review window, usually every six months, and share the mill quotations behind any adjustment. You see the numbers before we apply them.
3.1 How long does mass production take after the sample is approved?
45–60 days from deposit and sample sign-off, depending on order size and season. Repeat styles with material already in our warehouse can be quicker. You get a weekly production schedule and photo updates at cutting, stitching, lasting and packing, so nothing is a surprise at shipment.
3.2 Can you handle urgent orders if we have a sudden market opportunity?
Sometimes, and only when the material is available and the line has a gap. Repeat styles with existing tooling are the realistic candidates; a brand-new construction under 45 days is usually not possible. Tell us the date you need and we will say yes or no before you commit, rather than after.
3.3 What shipping methods do you offer for sending athletic shoes to the US or Europe?
Sea freight for bulk, air freight for samples or urgent stock. We ship FOB Xiamen as standard; CIF and DDP by sea or air are available. Our logistics desk prepares the commercial invoice, packing list, B/L or AWB and certificate of origin, and files ISF / AMS for US-bound containers.
3.4 Do you assist with import duties and customs documentation?
We prepare the full export document set — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and QC sheet — so customs clearance is clean. Import duty is set by your country, not by us, but we keep HS codes consistent across shipments and can supply REACH, CPSIA or Prop 65 test reports where your market requires them.
3.5 How do you ensure the shoes arrive in perfect condition?
Shoes ship in export-grade cartons with individual shoe boxes, tissue and silica gel, 10 pairs per master carton. For long sea routes or humid destinations we add moisture barriers or desiccants. Carton marks, palletisation and DC-specific labelling are set up to your warehouse requirements.
4.1 What quality control measures does Shoetec implement during production?
Three stages: inline inspection at the assembly line, a mid-production check at lasting, and a final AQL 2.5 random inspection on packed cartons. We test sole bond strength, colour fastness and stitch density against the approved sample. The QC report with photos reaches you before the container leaves Xiamen.
4.2 Are your factories certified for social compliance and safety?
Yes. Our factory is BSCI audited and ISO 9001 certified, and we hold GRS for recycled content. Audit reports are available under NDA. Wages, working hours and safety records are checked on every audit cycle, which is what keeps us on the approved-vendor lists of our EU and North American buyers.
4.3 Can you provide test reports for chemical safety regulations like REACH?
We arrange third-party testing through accredited labs for REACH, CPSIA, Prop 65 and RSL limits. Tests run against the actual material lots used in your order, not a catalogue sample. Reports are bundled with the shipment documents, and we can retest a specific component if your compliance team flags it.
4.4 What happens if there is a quality issue with the goods upon arrival?
Send photos and the carton numbers and we open a claim within 48 hours. Confirmed manufacturing defects are repaired, replaced or credited at our cost, whichever you prefer. Our defect rate over the last 12 months is 0.3%, and every claim is logged so the same fault does not repeat.
4.5 Do you perform wear-testing on new athletic shoe models?
Yes. New models get bench testing plus field wear before we recommend them for bulk. Depending on the style that means flex cycles, outsole abrasion and a treadmill distance run; cushioning or upper failures get fixed at the sample stage. You can request the test summary before you sign off.
5.1 How do we start working with Shoetec if we are interested?
Send a sketch, tech pack or reference shoe through our contact form or by email. We reply within 24 hours with a feasibility note, rough MOQ and a sample timeline. If the fit is right, we sign an NDA and move to CAD.
5.2 Will we have a dedicated person to manage our account and orders?
Every account gets one Export Manager as the single point of contact, from the first quote through reorders. That person sits in on production meetings, so schedule changes, QC results and shipping documents reach you from one desk. You will not be passed between departments.
5.3 Can you help us with packaging design and branding on the shoes?
Logo work covers embroidery, screen print, heat transfer and molded badges. Packaging runs from branded shoe boxes to hangtags, polybags and retail display cartons. We build a mock-up for approval, check every logo placement against your brand guide, and only then cut production tooling.
5.4 Do you offer exclusivity on designs created for our brand?
Yes. For ODM styles we create for you, we sign confidentiality and exclusivity terms so the model is not sold to another client or shown in our public catalog. Exclusive molds are stored separately and never shared. We have worked with EU and US brands since 2005 without an IP dispute.
5.5 What if we want to reorder a successful style from a previous season?
