Chunky sneaker production, from sketch to packed carton

OEM & Private Label Development

We run custom OEM and private label for platform sneakers in EVA, TPU and lightweight PU. Sampling and production are scheduled so a new style can reach the shelf inside one trend cycle.

Sole bonding and colour, checked before packing

Every chunky sneaker is tested for sole adhesion, colour consistency and weight balance across the pair. The QC team signs off against your approved sample, which cuts the risk of a batch drifting after approval.

Design, packaging and shipping from one desk

As a platform sneaker manufacturer and exporter, Shoetec handles design files, packaging artwork and freight booking on each order. Your export manager is the single point of contact from first sketch to container loading.

Our designers track streetwear and runway silhouettes, then translate them into production-ready patterns with a sole height and upper layering you can actually make at volume. You get the trend call with the cost attached, not instead of it.

Chunky Sneaker FAQ – Jinjiang Shoetec

Product Customization & Design Capabilities

1.1 Can you make chunky sneakers that look and perform like the big brands?

Yes. We build chunky silhouettes on a 3–5 cm EVA or TPU midsole, with the upper layered in mesh, synthetic leather or suede. Send reference photos and the points you care about and our R&D team specs the sole density, weight and colour blocking. The finished design stays yours and we work around any trademark you flag.

1.2 I have a sketch of a chunky sneaker, can you turn it into a real product?

Yes. Send the sketch, a tech pack or even a photo. Our designers fix the proportions of the sole and upper so the shoe stays balanced, then send 3D renders before any material is cut. The first physical sample is usually 10–15 days on an existing sole mold, closer to 25 for a new mold.

1.3 What materials do you usually use for chunky sneaker uppers?

Uppers mix breathable mesh, synthetic leather and suede, which is what gives the layered look. All of it is tested to REACH and CPSIA limits. If you need a specific texture, a vegan upper or a recycled option, we source it and keep the mill certificate. Knit uppers are available too for a lighter build.

1.4 Can you customize the height and shape of the chunky sole?

Yes. The sole is the point of a chunky sneaker, so we run midsole heights from a subtle 3 cm lift to a 5 cm platform, and adjust the sidewall curve and outsole tread to match. Mold engineers check the geometry against your sketch, and we test grip on the finished outsole before you approve it.

1.5 Do you offer sustainable options for chunky sneakers?

Yes. We can use recycled PET for laces and lining, rPET mesh for the upper and GRS-certified synthetic leather where you want a leather look. We hold GRS certification and keep chain-of-custody papers for each recycled component, so your environmental claim holds up with EU and US buyers. We can also supply the GRS transaction certificate that names each recycled input.

1.6 How do you ensure the quality of such complex shoe designs?

A chunky sneaker has more panels and more glue lines than a flat shoe, so we add checks: inline inspection as the line runs, a mid-production check on sole bonding, and a final AQL 2.5 audit before cartons close. We look for glue stains, panel alignment and colour consistency on every pair.

1.7 Can you help me create a full seasonal collection of chunky sneakers?

Yes. We build a seasonal range that shares a design language but varies in colourway and silhouette height, usually 8–14 styles per drop. We can also pull in casual shoes and fashion sneaker from the same account, so a lifestyle brand fills a whole season with one supplier and one QC standard.

1.8 Is it possible to add custom branding to the sole and insole?

Yes. We print or emboss your logo on the insole and can cut a custom outsole mold with your mark, so your brand sits under the shoe as well as on it. A custom mold carries a one-off tooling cost, which we amortise across the run if the volume is high enough. You approve a sample first.

1.9 What is the difference between your ODM and OEM services for this style?

ODM means you take a shape we already have and change the colourway, logo or upper material, which is faster and cheaper. OEM means we build a new shoe from your drawings, including a new last and possibly a new sole mold. We work either way and will say which suits your timeline and budget.

1.10 Can you make chunky sneakers suitable for wide feet?

Yes. We adjust the last to widen the forefoot and toe box, which is a common request from European and North American buyers. On a chunky shoe a roomier toe box also looks intentional rather than bulky, so width and style usually work together. We test fit over up to three sample rounds.

Ordering, MOQ & Pricing

2.1 What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for chunky sneakers?

MOQ starts at 800 pairs per style, colour and size run. A new sole mold or a custom knit upper can raise that because of tooling and material minimums. Tell us your target price and volume and we return the lowest workable number. Most first orders start with one style in two colourways.

2.2 How much does it cost to produce a pair of chunky sneakers?

It depends on the sole and upper. A standard synthetic build on an existing mold is the cheapest route. Genuine leather, a knitted upper or a custom sole mold all add cost. Once the design is confirmed we send a breakdown by material, labour and packaging, quoted FOB Xiamen. Prices firm up once we see your spec sheet, target volume and packaging choice.

2.3 Do you offer discounts for bulk orders?

Yes. The unit price drops as volume rises, because setup and mould costs spread over more pairs. We also offer a rate locked for the season to clients with a recurring order pattern. Give us your annual estimate and we can put a tiered structure in front of you before you commit.

2.4 Can I mix different colors in one order?

Yes. You can mix colours and sizes in one order, which is what most boutiques and small chains do to test a market without overstocking. Send the breakdown as a packing list and we build the schedule around it. Mixed orders usually add 3–5 days versus a single-colour run. We can also pre-pack mixed orders so each store receives its own box.

2.5 What are the payment terms for international orders?

T/T as standard: 30% deposit, 70% against the B/L copy. L/C at sight is available above USD 100,000 and for repeat buyers. Payments go to the company account, and bank details are on the proforma invoice. We don't ask for anything off-invoice. Sample fees and any tooling are paid separately and shown as their own line.

2.6 How do I place an order if I am a startup brand?

Send your idea or a reference photo through the contact us form and your export manager replies within 24 hours. From there we quote, sample, and only start bulk once you approve the sample. There is no minimum order history or annual volume lock-in to begin. Your export manager stays the single contact from first quote to delivery.

2.7 Is the price different for customized soles versus standard soles?

Yes. A custom sole mold is a one-off tooling cost, quoted separately from the unit price. If your volume is high enough we amortise it across the run so the per-pair impact is small. Using an existing mold and customising only the upper is the cheapest way to get a distinctive look.

2.8 Can I get a price list for your existing chunky sneaker catalog?

Yes. We share our current catalog with FOB pricing for ready-to-order styles. That is the fastest route if you want to start selling without waiting on new samples. Leave your contact details and we'll email the latest version, along with the stock colourways available. For custom styles we quote after we receive your tech pack or reference sample.

Sampling & Lead Time

3.1 How long does it take to get a sample of the chunky sneakers?

10–25 days. If we use an existing sole mold and an existing pattern it lands near 10 days. A new mold plus a new upper takes closer to 25. We send progress photos before shipping the physical sample, so you know what is coming. If you need it sooner, tell us the deadline and we will confirm what is feasible.

3.2 Can I request changes after I see the first sample?

Yes. Sampling is where we get the fit and look right, so ask for changes. If the sole is too high, the colour is off, or the upper needs more structure, we revise it. Three rounds of revision are included in the sample fee, and we don't move to bulk until you approve the physical pair.

3.3 What is the lead time for mass production after sampling?

45–60 days from deposit and sample sign-off, covering material sourcing, cutting, stitching, lasting, moulding, QC and packing. Peak season can add a week, so book your slot three months ahead. We send a weekly schedule with photo updates at each milestone. Deposit and sample approval start the clock, not the date of your first email.

3.4 Do you charge for samples?

Yes, there is a sample fee covering materials and labour. It is deducted in full from your bulk invoice once production starts. If the style never goes to bulk the fee stands, but you keep the sample and the tech pack. There is no separate development charge. Tooling for a new sole mold is quoted separately and stays yours.

3.5 Can you send samples to my office in Europe or the US?

Yes. Samples ship by DHL or FedEx to Europe, the US and other destinations, usually 3–5 working days in transit. We handle export formalities and the commercial invoice; you clear import on your side. Tracking goes out the day the parcel leaves. Sample freight is billed at cost and we do not add a handling fee.

3.6 How fast can you do a "rush" order for a trade show?

Tell us the deadline as early as you can and we will see whether a slot can be held. A rush sample for a show is often possible on an existing mold; a new mold under three weeks usually is not. We would rather say no at booking than promise a date we cannot hold.

3.7 What information do you need to start making a sample?

A sketch, tech pack or a reference shoe, plus your target retail and volume. If you only have photos, our team can write the tech pack. The more detail on sole height and upper materials you give, the closer the first sample lands, and the fewer revision rounds you need.

Shipping, Logistics & Compliance

4.1 How do you ship chunky sneakers to the Middle East or Europe?

We ship to the Middle East and Europe regularly and handle the export documents either way. Sea freight to EU ports runs 25–35 days; air is 5–8 days for restocks and samples. We quote FOB Xiamen as standard, or CIF if you would rather we book the freight, through our forwarders or yours.

4.2 Do your shoes meet the safety standards for the EU market?

Yes. Materials are tested to REACH limits for the EU market, and we can arrange CPSIA testing for the US. If your buyer needs a specific report we coordinate third-party testing through SGS or Intertek before shipment. Test reports ship with the batch. Reports are kept on file for five years in case your buyer re-checks them.

4.3 Can you help with the customs declaration documents?

Yes. We issue the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin, and keep the HS codes for footwear current for your market. If your country needs a specific form for a duty reduction, tell us and we prepare it. Accurate paperwork is where most clearance delays are avoided. If customs requests a corrected document, we resend it within one working day.

4.4 Do you have a BSCI audit or similar social compliance?

Yes. The factory is BSCI audited (valid through 2026) and ISO 9001 certified, and we hold GRS for recycled content. Audit reports are available under NDA. Read more on our company credentials and compliance page, or ask your export manager for the current certificates. We also welcome unannounced audits at any point during a production run.

4.5 What is the standard packaging for your chunky sneakers?

Standard packing is a reinforced brown box with tissue and silica gel, 10 pairs per master carton. Custom branded boxes, dust bags and extra laces are available at extra cost. Cartons are marked to your DC spec and pallets are wrapped and strapped for the voyage. We can print your carton marks and barcode labels at the factory.

4.6 Can you ship directly to my warehouse or distributor?

Yes. Give us the delivery address and contact, and we ship to your warehouse or a third-party logistics provider. We can label cartons to their inbound requirements, including FNSKU labels for Amazon FBA and pallet labels for retail DCs. Tracking goes out when the goods leave. Any inbound labeling spec you send is applied before the cartons are sealed.

4.7 How do you handle damaged goods during shipping?

If damage comes from our packing, we take responsibility: send photos and we replace the affected pairs or credit them. That is why we recommend cargo insurance for the voyage, which we can help arrange. We investigate any claim within 48 hours and confirm the cause first. Claims are logged so the same packing fault does not repeat on your next order.

Business Partnership & After-Sales

5.1 Can Shoetec help me sell to large retailers?

Yes. We have produced for retailers and know the documents they ask for: audit reports, test reports, and a signed golden sample. Partnering with an audited factory gives you something concrete to put in front of a buying team rather than a promise. We can also join a buyer call or fill in their vendor questionnaire directly.

5.2 Do you offer protection for my custom designs?

Yes. We sign an NDA on every project and treat your design and moulds as yours alone. Exclusive molds are stored separately and never shared or sold to another client. Over 20 years of export work we have had no IP dispute, and that is deliberate. If you need it, we will sign your own NDA template instead of ours.

5.3 What if the bulk production quality is different from the sample?

We keep a golden sample signed by you as the reference for the whole run. Our QC team compares every batch against it and checks sole bonding, colour and panel alignment. If a batch drifts, we fix it before the shoes leave the factory, at our cost. You get the QC report for that batch before we book the shipment.

5.4 Can I visit your factory to discuss the chunky sneaker line?

You are welcome to visit Shoetec and walk the line. We are at Shuyou Building, Hebin Rd, Chendai, Jinjiang, Fujian. Give us a week's notice and we will arrange the visit and a meeting on the chunky sneaker line. Most clients visit during sampling or just before bulk. If travel is difficult, we can run the same walk-through over a video call.

5.5 Do you support dropshipping for chunky sneakers?

Our focus is B2B wholesale and OEM/ODM, so we do not run a consumer dropship programme. For the right partner and volume we can discuss logistics, including shipping to a 3PL that handles fulfillment. contact us with your model and we will say honestly what is possible. We can also ship to a freight forwarder of your choice at no extra charge.

5.6 How do I get in touch with a sales representative?

Use the "Contact Us" form on the site or email your export manager directly. We reply within 24 hours, and faster during China working hours (Monday to Saturday, 8:00–18:00). Include your market, quantity and price point and we can often send a rough quote the same day. Ask for the export manager's direct email and WhatsApp for faster replies.

5.7 Can you help with marketing materials for the shoes?

Yes. Our studio photographs your finished shoes on white and in context, and can shoot short video for your site and ads. Files are high-resolution and licensed for your marketing. Request it with the bulk order so the images match the production pair rather than an early sample. Extra shooting days, models or lifestyle sets are quoted separately on request.
